Hi Aspen Leaf Residents! This is silly me, Alexa! I am a new leasing specialist at Aspen Leaf Apartments. When I'm not rocking my MEB colors, you'll find me fashioning a wetsuit, as I love to scuba dive. I am working at a couple of MEB properties this summer, but you will see me more and more as August approaches. Feel free to stop by the office and introduce yourself. Have a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend!

Congrats, Graduates!
“College – those are your prime suffering years. You don’t get better suffering than that.” --Little Miss Sunshine (2006) – Uncle Frank (Steve Carell)
We would like to give all 2012 graduates a BIG HURRAH to a job well done! You made it and deserve to sit back and enjoy your success! Don't sleep for too long, you don't want to put all your time, effort, and money to waste!
CNN gives the 3 major slip-ups graduates make, you can check out the entire article here.
1. Social Media Missteps
By now, seniors have heard the warnings – that what they post online is rarely, completely private. You know how you wouldn’t want embarrassing photos or information about your last breakup appearing in a school yearbook? Well, think of Facebook and Twitter as a yearbook for the entire world. And if you're a college graduate whose profile picture reveals a funnel, a frothy drink, and the Jersey Shore (or Lake Havasu…or Daytona Beach…or a Caribbean cruise), there’s a possibility that the company you want to work for will see it.
2. Summer Slacking
Social media aren’t the only danger zones for graduates, of course. Another potential stumbling block is the coveted summer break. Between the ninth and tenth grades, you might've kicked back, relaxed, worked only when needed (or convenient), and ruled the pool. But recent college graduates who stay in that pattern are almost certain to lose whatever jobs are available to those who started their search before they even donned a cap and gown.
3. Mishandling Money
Understand your income. A starting salary of $36,000 does not mean you’re going to get a check for $3,000 a month. Uncle Sam’s gonna take a chunk of that; your state may take a cut as well; your employer will probably need you to kick in part of your health insurance coverage. So plan on getting a roommate or two and cycling through a few paychecks so you have a sense of what you can afford before you actually go shopping.

Because a cats the only cat, who knows where it's at...
What do Garfield, Felix, Puss in Boots, Cheshire, Milo, Sassy, and Mr. Bigglesworth have in common?
You got it, they are some of our favorite cats on film!
June is national Adopt-A-Cat month and we are excited to celebrate it with you and our feline friends!
Mark your calenders for June 30th to stop by the leasing office and visit with Coconino Humane Association's available furry friends. If you see one you love we can get the paperwork processed right then and there.
Tell your friends so we can save as many lives as possible!

Our cats might not be as cool as The ThunderCats, but they will definitely be more cuddly! P.S. Can you name that movie the title came from? |

Cinephile Not-So-Anonymous
Hi. My name is Leslie and I love the movies. I love holding my ticket, unable to wait for the attendant to tear it, so I do and smile as I hand over stub. It's go time. Popcorn, pretzels, and pop. The hustle of the people walking in, anticipating the movie mingled the hustle of people of leaving, some with disappointed faces, some with satisfaction.
Want to know the best place to sit? Five rows from the top, center of the row. Best seat. Ever.
Tim Burton said, "Movies are like an expensive form of therapy for me."
I hear you Tim! They are expensive, but who wants to give them up? Not me. Luckily, here at Aspen Leaf, we have a movie library for our residents! Residents can check out 2 movies at a time, and get this: It's FREE!
We even update our movies every 5-6 weeks, so new movies are constantly coming in! Now you can snuggle up on the couch with your favorite blanket, stretch out, and enjoy a movie at zero cost.
What, you're not a resident? There is an easy solution to that...become one!
What's your favorite movie? Comment below, I'd love to know!
